Winter is here....and mud!

This summer was a good practice for our winter routine which includes a lot of towelling and washing...more opportunity to play while we have a rub down.

All our activities continue in any weather - only the coats and hats vary!  We are changing our Opening Times for the winter, and we shall be sticking to these, so if you can’t make the collection time, please book your dog in until the next day.

New Opening Times for Winter 08/09

Monday to Friday     10am to 3pm

                      Saturday    10am to 12 midday

            Sunday     5pm to 6pm

Summer 2009....

Sorry to mention next summer when it’s not yet Christmas, but we are quite busy already for the school holidays.  So if you would like to book for July or August, please book straight away.

Previous news updates....

Our first summer is now over!

It’s official; this weeks continued torrential rain has ended all hope of an Indian Summer at Centre Barks.  This, and the end of school holidays brings our summer to a close, but not an end to the fun.. ..out come the woolly jumpers and wellies, the towels and warm gravy for the dogs, and off we go for more walks and mud baths (especially for the labradors among us....)

Our summer has been great, with some lovely dogs having a  great time all around the countryside.  Even the rain, which has turned the farm into a water park, has been fun - we have had dogs swimming in the fields, the puddles were so deep!

Sad news...

During July, our Bernese Mountain Dog was diagnosed with cancer, and Macy died soon afterwards.  She was a huge part of our hearts, and our ideas and inspiration for setting up Centre Barks, so her images will stay all around on our website and leaflets, they still represent what we are all about.

It wouldn’t be possible to say how much she meant to me, or how much we miss her, so straight on to other things....

Busy, busy, busy.....

We have been incredibly busy since we opened, which is wonderful for us.  Even with winter looming, there are lots of dogs booking in for winter breaks.  School holidays are very busy, and we are now full for October half term.

Those of you who like to plan ahead are already booking for next year, so give me a ring if you need to reserve a room, especially during school breaks.

Christmas and New Year  is getting full - there will be a surcharge and a limit on check-in/check-out days, so give me a ring if your dog would like a special Christmas or New Year break!

Visitors & Bookings

If you would like to come and look around, just give me a ring - we are open from

10 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday, and by arrangement at the weekends.

Bookings are being taken - a confirmed booking is made once we receive your completed forms and deposit.

 Payments

We can now take card payments - in person or over the phone to confirm your booking immediately.  We make a surcharge of 2% on credit card payments. We still accept payment by cash or cheque.
